DISCUSSION and SUMMARY
Michael Hockensmith’s official military records show that he was in the Navy Reserve and missed the Vietnam War, although he would be classified as a Vietnam-era veteran.
He went to boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois so would have been on active duty for that. It is unclear whether his time at ATKRON 128 and ATKRON 165 were in a drilling reservist capacity.
He is listed as being in the Navy Reserve from 1974 – 1980 which is a six year obligation. His performance record shows assignments up to 1977, so the remaining couple of years were most likely as a non-drilling reservist in the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve).
In any case, he got out as an Airman (E-3).
He earned a National Defense Service Medal and a COMNAVAIRPAC Battle “E” – most likely a unit award.
There is no “war” other than the Vietnam war during his time in the Navy Reserve but his records show he was stationed in the United States. Also, there is no Purple Heart award – let alone a “Purple Heart for valor” – whatever that means.
Hockensmith is clearly leveraging these claims to solicit money on the GoFundMe and Facebook fundraiser profiles. This may put him in direct violation of Stolen Valor. State specific laws on Stolen Valor may also apply.

I’d give him $20 just to unfuk that haircut
I think he got it at the Star Trek Convention last week.
I’ll bet you $20 that haircut is a toupee
I wouldn’t give him the sweat off my balls if he was dying of thirst. Really? A GO FUND ME page??? really? A Purple Heart for Valor? Put this schmuck in jail now for impersonating a human! AND having a douche of a haircut as well!
So he stole my cereal bowl.
Whoever sold him those wigs should be shot with him.
I’m betting he got those wigs from the One Dollar Table at Goodwill!
Regarding his hair style, he is probably sporting a wig cause he’s bald. Back in those days, Reservists were allowed to wear wigs.
He reminds me of a Pedophile I busted in Hawaii in the late 70’s. Irregardless, this Stolen Valor Cuck needs to have his package dropped in the mail to the WA State AG’s Office.
LMAO, am glad he never claimed he was a Navy SEAL or a Super Sniper.
[…] folks at Military Phony send us their work on Michael Thomas Hockensmith, who claims he is a highly decorated veteran who […]
His second FB page has either been deleted or he blocked me (shocked!). This guy is out of his mind.
as of this typing he has deleted his facebook after I posted a link to this page on it, hahaha!
Both of Michael Hockensmith’s Facebook pages are still up. If you can’t see them he probably blocked you.

I would like to throat punch that poser!
He seems very rudderless. A very Dutch haircut.
I heard that his GoFundMe page is no longer active, Kudos to those who left “Buckets of Love” for him on it!
The Citation of Valor states that he is an Airman First Class of the United States Navy?
He’s a mental case.
But that notwithstanding, I am going to send this to one of my SF buddies that lives in the area (I live in Washington but much farther away).
As of today (April 19) his second Facebook page is empty, and there is a white flag in the Profile Picture.
I believe he has gotten the message.
