Now comes Robert A. Lane who claims on Social Media ( facebook ) that he deployed to Beirut Lebanon after the terrorist attack.

He also claims that he volunteered to deploy to Grenada.

7He claims to have served with 1/10 Artillery from Camp Lejeune North Carolina, and Comm Co. 4th Marines from Okinawa Japan. He tells all that he went to Communications School in 29 Palms California.

Claiming 30 months in Okinawa Japan where he volunteered for everything possible. Even Jump wings.

We have confirmed that the technician from the National Personal Records Center ( NPRC ) made a typo while writing up Robert A. Lane’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA ). We did so by matching all the personal information on Robert A. Lanes SF-180 request form to the NPRC.

Robert A. Lane served on Active duty in the US Marine Corps from Nov. 8, 1982 to Sep. 10, 1985 ( 2 years, 10 months, 2 days ). He was discharged a Private ( E-1 ).

His Military Education was Field Radio Operator’s course.

Decorations and awards are the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and both the marksman and sharpshooter rifle qualification badges.

From June 23, 1983 to June 17, 1984, he was assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa Japan.

Summary and Conclusion ;  A certain portion of the 10 Marines did deploy to Lebanon in 1983. While Robert Lane was either in Boot Camp, Comm. School, or assigned to the 4th Marines on Okinawa Japan which did not deploy to Lebanon.

We checked with the Marines at Beirut Memorial Online, a group dedicated to the remembrance of those who served and were lost in Beirut Lebanon. By the time Pvt Lane arrived at 10th Marines the last unit deployed to Beirut had already been there for several months. Golf Battery, 3rd Battalion 10th Marines was the last unit from 10th Marines to deploy to Lebanon.  A former Platoon Sergeant for G 3/10 confirmed that Robert Lane was not there.  There was a 1stSgt Carl Layne who was deployed.  We are told the 1stSgt would become “unpleasant” should anyone confuse him with this “#other#uk### piece of ###t” (or words to that effect.)

With all of the claims and evidence presented, we can confirm that Robert A. Lane is embellishing his service record severely. He only attended one school. Was not in Beirut, and deserted his assigned duty station.

Criminal Records on Robert A Lane show that his Military address in Nov. 1984 was Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 10 Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune North Carolina.

BCD as a deserter. No wonder he wants to embellish. Puk you shithead. You crapped the bed now lay in it loser.

  2. Mark Lauer says:

And I’d be willing to bet that any Marine who was really in Beirut at the time, and who really did “bag up bodies”, doesn’t really want to brag about it, or even mention it at all.

Why do these fucking posers seem to think something like that is a badge of distinction and honor?
It’s a memory for men who really did it that they would rather not have, and would give anything to forget, or would have gladly given to someone else to do at the time.
These posers make me SICK when they use this sort of “experience” as a calling card.
If they really HAD to do something like that, they’d puke up everything inside, and curl up on the floor crying.
    I know I would.

  3. Tim Houts......two time Beirut vet says:

Disgusting asshole….But what do expect from a DESERTER! I’m so glad for those who expose these dirtbags. For those of you who do the great work of exposing these ass-clowns, keep up the good work! Too bad this clown can’t be locked up for posing!
