BACKGROUND
Dane Paul Reason comes to us from Hessmer, Lousiana. Reason is 51 years old at the time of this writing – March 2020.
Reason adorns his Facebook page with SEAL-related imagery.
When people associate the Facebook images on his page and him as a SEAL, Reason confirms their assumptions.
Then, Reason’s shadow box with a SEAL Trident and jump wings.
Here is a post where Reason makes a direct claim of going to BUD/S and SEAL Qualification Training (SQT).
With a simple image search, it was discovered that the above photograph was associated with Operation Ocean Shield from 2009-2016, many years after Dane Reason got out of the Navy.
Some people were skeptical and asked Military Phony to look into these claims.

After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of “Dane Paul Reason” or any other variation of his name ever completing BUD/S Training or assigned to any SEAL teams during the time he was in the Navy.

DISCUSSION and SUMMARY
Dane Reason’s official military records from the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) do not support many of his claims.
Rating
Dane Reason was in the MS rating. That stands for Mess Specialist (cook). He got out of the Navy as a MS3, which is an E-4.
Medals
The official military records do not support Reason having the SEAL Trident or parachute jump wings.
Navy SEAL
Reason’s records show no training as a Navy SEAL nor any duty assignments as a Navy SEAL. A good deal of Reason’s time was spent aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67).
As mentioned before, Dane Reason was not found listed in the BUD/S-SEAL database when it was checked.
