William Bowen Gantt, Not a SEAL, SWCC, or Diver

William “Night Train” Gantt comes to us from Tombstone Arizona. He wears a SEAL Trident on his leather vest along with a SEAL Team Six patch. Could be a big supporter of the Teams. So he was asked about it.

Just for the record he would of been 33 years old when that class went through training.  He claims to be a OIF/OEF Veteran.

He also shared a picture showing his days with SWCC.

Big ass flag, check.

Here is another picture sporting the Trident and SEAL Team Six patch on his vest.

He claims an impressive five deployments to Iraq.

Here he claims Team Three as well.

Here he is a 1%er of the 3% and an 81 supporter. I certainly hope he hasn’t been lying to those 81 guys about who he is.

We did a check of the UDT/SEAL Archives and could not find Gantt listed as a graduate of any BUD/S class. We requested his records using a Freedom of Information Act Request and received the following response.

We also ran some other checks covering from 1984 to 2018 to see if there was any service listed that might have been missed. This is an example of one of those checks.

On another note. To be in the SEAL Teams you would need a clearance. His record with the law would probably have kept him out of a basic enlistment with no clearance. The government frowns on prison sentences.

We have not been able to find any evidence that William Bowen Gantt ever served in any branch of the United States Military.
