Here comes Emmit Adams from Lexington Kentucky. He rustled a few jimmies when he wore this uniform to what looks to be a church event. He is wearing a Special Warfare Insignia, Surface Warfare Insignia, and what appears to be SWCC Insignia. All above his rows of ribbons. The ribbons show a Combat Action , Purple Heart times 4, And some others that look to be the National Defense Service Medal, some Vietnam Awards and one shooting ribbon. He wears the uniform of an E5 with a 4 year service stripe. The Vietnam Veteran ball cap  has what appears to be rows of medals.

After a check of the UDT SEAL Archives it was found that Emmit was never a SEAL. We decided at that point to do a request for his records with a Freedom of Information Act request.

It does seem that Emmit served in the United States Navy from April 1959 to April of 1963. It looks like he went from E1 to E5 and back to E1 before his discharge. There is also no mention of any awards or medals that would show he served in Vietnam and has four Purple Hearts. It would appear that the only thing from the photo that matches his records is the 4 year hashmark.
