Richard Copeland Fisher III – Fake SEAL trainer (Possible Scam)

Richard Copeland Fisher III comes to us from Petersburg, VA.  Richard never claims to be a SEAL but has set up a GoFundMe page to train two young kids in the attempts to help them become SEALs.   His goal is to raise $2000 for training.

Richard talks about training to become a SEAL requires the right gear to do it right.  Such as weights, medicine ball, kettlebell, dip/pull up station, inflatable boat, swim mask (goggles), swim fins, diver boots, inflatable emergency swimmer life vest, BDU’s, Bates 922 boots, inflatable pool, etc…

Now, this is hardcore Navy SEAL training, an inflatable pool… (the pic below was added by me and not Richard).

Richard says he will have them doing 5000 push-ups a day, 13 miles of running each day, swim 6 miles a day and a lot of other stuff.  This is just a ridiculous way to train, a good way of getting someone hurt.

After the SEAL community became aware of Richard he was confronted on his GoFundMe page (which was deleted).

ACTIONS CONDUCTED BY MILITARY PHONIES

After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives, the Naval Special Warfare Center and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of Richard Copeland Fisher III ever completing BUD/S Training or being assigned to a SEAL Team.  There is a record of Richard Copeland Fischer III processing into BUD/s.

Richard Copeland Fisher III’s records were requested through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

DoD Manpower Data Center results:

We apologize for the bad copy of Richard Copeland Fisher III’s DD-214.  Richard was active duty from 30 JUN 1999 to 24 JUL 2000 and did attend BUD/S but was also discharged from BUD/S.  I would say Richard is NOT qualified to train anyone to become a SEAL since he didn’t complete training, he will only hurt someone.  As other SEALs posted on his GoFundMe page that you don’t need equipment to train to be a SEAL.

We did find some other records that may factor in for anyone considering training with Richard Fisher.  Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Carrying a Gun in Public Under the Influence.
