Cody James Bobay – Never Claimed to be a Navy SEAL (UPDATED)

UPDATE

Mr. Bobay has posted his explanation for the false and misleading things that were written about him being a Navy SEAL and posted online.   You can read his response HERE

His explanation appears plausible and now there is a direct response from him available to the public that refutes him being a Navy SEAL.  Mr. Bobay and those involved with SoulCon seem to be passionate and dedicated to their cause.  We do not endorse groups of any kind but we hope anyone who may be interested in their effort follows up with them directly.

We strongly recommend when Veterans use their military experience to promote a cause or business they ensure things posted online about their military experience match what is actually in their military records.

Plausible Deniability only goes so far in providing and explanation.   As an example, Mr. Bobay also has LinkedIn account information that is inaccurate.

Neither Joint Service Medal appear in his records and neither is there a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal or a Navy & Marine Corps Commendation listed.  There is no doubt that Cody Bobay served this Nation and did so with some distinction.  His records do show Two awards for the Navy Achievement Medal.  We highly recommend he correct that information as well.

We wish those of SoulCon best regards in all they do.  Mr. Bobay stepped up and responded, we thank him for that.  Should anyone ever question his service again it is posted here for all to see he did in fact serve honorably.

Origional Post

Cody James Bobay hails from Oklahoma City, OK.  Military Phonies was informed about Pastor/Minister (not sure exactly what he is) Cody Bobay having a luncheon to speak about how he lives every day with a warrior mindset.  A few SEALs received an invitation regarding Cody’s event listing him “As a past Navy Seal”.

Warrior mindset, wonder where he got that, boot camp?  Video Games?  The playground?  Makes one also wonder about Pastor/Minister school — is that online accreditation or certificate?  Could be legit but it is fair to question.

Cody has written a book called Soulcon Challenge

A review written about Cody lists him as a former Navy seal

ACTIONS CONDUCTED BY MILITARY PHONIES

After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives, the Naval Special Warfare Center and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of Cody James Bobay ever completing BUD/S Training or being assigned to a SEAL Team.

Cody James Bobay records were requested through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Based on Cody’s DD-214, he did just over 5 years, 9 months, 29 days of active service. Cody was discharged as an E-5, AWV2.  His service record shows No BUD/S, no SEAL Team.  Looks like the Pastor/Minister needs to ask God for forgiveness for these lies and make a public correction.  We assume he will most likely blame the publishers for the error of posting Navy SEAL, it seems like it’s always everyone else’s fault.
