Jeffrey Lawrence Smith – Fake Navy SEAL

Jeffrey Lawrence Smith comes to us from Shingletown, CA.  Jeff was involved in a major accident and has been hospitalized since 8/20/17.  His family set up a gofundme page for Jeff’s recovery efforts.

Several veteran and Navy SEAL groups were notified by people wanting to take up the cause to help Jeff and his family.

In the gofundme page it talks about Jeff being a fighter because he knows “The only easy day was yesterday.”  Once again a common quote, apparently this is something Jeff learned while in “BUDS” enduring months of hardship training to become a Navy SEAL, serving from 78-82.  Allegedly, his time with the SEALs was cut short by a parachute accident.  It appears that his Trident hung proudly in his house until his son took it to his bedside after the accident.

Numerous “real” SEALs in the community found this gofundme page, but no one recognized the name.  They checked the Navy SEAL database but he was not listed. A few articles were posted of Jeff’s accident to include him being a Navy SEAL.  The gofundme page and the articles writers were contacted to inform them that Jeff was NEVER a Navy SEAL.  Jeff’s son is in contact with a “real” SEAL and sent his dads DD-214 to figure out the confusion.  It was posted in a group for other SEALs to view at which time it confirmed every SEALs answer, Jeff was NEVER a SEAL.  It looks like Jeff had been lying to his family for a few decades.  His DD-214 shows him as a MM3 with no SEAL reference (NEC, schooling, training, etc…)

Jeff’s son contacted one of Military Phonies (MP) investigators and we understand how upset they are about the accident only to find out their father has lied to his family their entire life.  This was a shock for him, but his main concern was the health of his father which we at MP totally understand.  We want our readers at MP to know that Jeff’s family and friends were lied to and are innocent victims that will deal with this in their own way.  This in no way excuses Jeff’s lies.

Below are the edited articles,  they state that the family requested to have any mention of his military service removed.

ACTIONS CONDUCTED BY MILITARY PHONIES

After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of Jeffrey Lawrence Smith ever being a Navy SEAL or training to become a Navy SEAL.

Jeffrey Lawrence Smith’s military records were requested through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Jeff’s summary sheet shows that he served HONORABLY in the Navy and was discharged as an E-4.   There does not appear to be any reason Jeffrey Lawrence Smith and his family should not be proud of what he actually did do in the Navy.  He served during a time when most others wouldn’t, a total of 4 years and 1 day of active duty.  There is no record of Jeff attending BUD/S, being stationed at a SEAL Team, or ever attending jump school.  We have no idea how he could have been involved in a parachute accident.

It seems he is on the mend at this point but has a long way to go in his recovery.  Those who embellish or fake a military career never seem to understand the grief and embarrassment those who are guilty of nothing more than loving them have to endure.  We wish his family well and in spite of his transgressions, Jeff Lawrence did serve HONORABLY in the United States Navy and we wish him a speedy recovery.
