Military Claims / Comments: Made claims to a non profit organization, called Mid-Shore Recovering Veterans Group that he is a veteran who served in Somalia for the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart while he was serving there.
A local newspaper, Queen Anne’s Record-Observer, published an article about this organization on December 14, 2016 and highlighted William Satterfield, who was quoted as making his claims about serving and also represented himself as “SFC Bill Satterfield”.

Once receiving the report on  William Earl Satterfield , We filed for his military service record using the privileges provided under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The results are listed below.

  A grand total of 17 months in the Maryland National Guard. His only Active duty time listed was for Basic Training and AIT. His MOS was 11B Infantryman.  He was discharged as a Private (E-2) instead of Sergeant First Class (SFC).
