BACKGROUND

William Alfred Murphy Jr comes to us from Moselle, Mississippi. Murphy is 45 years old as of October 2019.

William Murphy

Murphy claims he is a 100% disabled Marine Corps veteran – service connected.

Some asked further about his claim of being 100% disabled…

Murphy claimed he was a Gulf War veteran, spent 22 months overseas in combat, was a sniper for a recon unit, and was recruited by the CIA when he was with 1st Marine Recon Division from 1992-1994.

Some doubted his claims, and Murphy seemed to take exception to this.

Murphy claimed that he served for four (4) years…

Murphy also talked about being a sniper…

In another conversation, Murphy said that he served in Okinawa with the 3rd Marine Division…

Some people were skeptical and asked Military Phony to look into these claims.

DISCUSSION and SUMMARY

Murphy enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served from Aug 25, 1993 to Mar 31, 1995 was discharged as a Private (E-1). He claimed he made Corporal (E-4). Although the days vary slightly, the time frame of Aug 1993 to Mar 1995 is supported by both DoD Manpower Data Center and the FOIA results from NPRC.

There is no record of Seiler serving in Iraq, Somalia or the Gulf War. NPRC would have picked that up.

In fact, Murphy’s Combat History page is blank. According to this and his lack of awards, he would not have “spent 22 months overseas in combat” as he claimed.

Murphy’s awards also do not support his claim of being overseas in combat at all.

Murphy does not have the supportive training nor assignments to be in Recon or be a sniper. He was trained as a Motor Vehicle Operator (MOS 3531).

Murphy did serve in the US Marine Corps but beyond that there are not many of his claims that are supported by his military records.

STOLEN VALOR

If the claims by William Murphy were used to leverage work, military or civilian promotions, or anything else of value, he may be in violation of Stolen Valor laws. State laws may also apply.

    Another “Wanna Be”

  2. Mike P says:

So, he was run over by a Hummer in Somalia and Okinawa too? That’s gotta be some kind of record!

    • rgr769 says:

What I want to know is how he was run over by a Humvee. Was he napping under one in the motor pool? Or did he fail to set the parking brake when he was draining the oil for an oil change? Or is there a more exotic explanation. In another comment, he says his injury occurred during a training exercise. In any event, with about 18 months active duty and service in his reserve unit, he still ended up leaving as an E-1, so he was very likely a screwup.

      • Dennis Harless says:

Pretty sure he was never “in” the reserves. That time was probably what he spent in Delayed Entry. Looking at his age he probably joined DEP in his last year of High School and went in after Graduation.

  3. Dennis Harless says:

His first Post looks like he is rattling a tin cup to get a necklace with Marine Corps Emblem. Discharged with about 19 months in service as a Private. Motor T in an Air Wing Unit in Okinawa. Short Stint in Hospital ( 3 Days). While he could have been in an accident, if it was as dramatic as he makes out He would have spent a hell of a lot Longer.
Guy is an illiterate tin cup rattling piece of shit.

William Alfred Murphy Jr., as the records show, you are a lying embellishing POS. I use your full name to help ensure your upcoming Google fame as a lying, embellishing POS to differentiate from your father or anyone else with that name. Unfortunately the collateral damage to their good name has been brought about by your lies. You had what should have been perfectly honorable service as a Marine doing an important job. But nooooooooo, little willie, you had to make yourself out as something you are not. How does it feel to know that very soon, the entire world will know of your sh^tbaggery? Embrace the suck….Bitch! The innerwebznet thingie is forever.

  6. Ex-PH2 says:

If he was run over by a HMV, how come he was in the hospital for only three days?

    Just askin’.

  7. jon says:

As a retired SM if anybody should claim another rating it should be me.

  8. Contractor1803 says:

I’d like to know if the 100% Disabled part is valid. Who did he reward with his mouth at the local VA?
