Gordon “Steve” Lang – US Navy SEAL Sniper, SEAL Team 3, BUD/S Class 192, Blog of Shame

BACKGROUND
Gordon Stuart Lang, who prefers ‘Steve Lang,’ comes to us from Lehigh Acres, Florida but is originally from Rhode Island. Lang is 50 years old as of August 2019.
Just to cut down on confusion, Lang claims he was both in the U.S. Marine Corps and claims he was a Navy SEAL.
First, his Facebook profile page which claims Military Intelligence with an MOS of 0321. The Navy calls them NECs and the Marine Corps refers to them as MOS. MOS 0321 is a Recon Marine.
Lang posted a photo that he labeled “2nd Battalion Force Recon Iraq” but they are Army Delta Force / Navy SEAL uniforms – hard to tell with the resolution. Not sure if the implication that it was his unit or if he was in the photo.
He also posts that although his time in the Marine Corps was short – 3 years – he was awarded the Navy Cross. This valor award is second only to the Medal of Honor. He claims he was awarded this by the President. Bill Clinton is pictured in the below photo.
Lang also claimed he was a Scott [sic] sniper for 12 years. Probably meant a Scout Sniper. This is what they referred to them in the Marine Corps, but since he was only in the USMC for 3 years, he probably meant the US Navy as a Scout Sniper. Later, this was confirmed as to what he meant. A sniper in the U.S. Navy, presumably as a SEAL since he claimed to be in the U.S. Navy for 15 years.
He became upset when someone questioned his military service…
During a lengthy Facebook discussion, Lang made some claims to being in SEAL Team 3, was called out and responded.

ACTIONS CONDUCTED BY MILITARY PHONIES
We discovered that Steve Lang’s name is actually Gordon Stuart Lang but he seems to prefer to go by “Steve Lang.”
After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of “Gordon Stuart Lang” or “Steve / Steven / Stephen Lang” ever completing BUD/S Training or assigned to any SEAL teams.
Gordon Stuart Lang’s military records were ordered through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The name “Steve Lang” was also accounted for in the FOIA request.

FOIA RESULTS
The DoD Manpower Data Center database was searched every year from late 1984 when Lang would have been 16 to present day with the same result – no dates for active duty in any service came up. Sometimes this database has trouble with Reserve activation to active duty and/or very short enlistments. For instance – boot camp active duty and then the individual returned to a drilling reserve status.

DISCUSSION and SUMMARY
Steve / Gordon Lang has no record of going to BUD/S and no assignment with a SEAL Team over his career. There is also no listing of a SEAL NEC in his records. In fact, there are not Navy records they could locate.
He served in the National Guard with only a few months of that as active duty.
There is no record of Lang serving in the Marine Corps. NPRC would have picked that up. For the length of time he claimed – 15 years in the Navy, there would not be an opportunity.
The Department of the Navy could not locate any record on his to prove that he even served with them.
There is no record supporting his claim of being a Scout Sniper – Navy or Marine Corps.
There is no record of Lang being awarded a Navy Cross.
Lang’s official military records do not support most all of his claims of Marine Corps and Navy SEAL.

When I was in college there was a guy that claimed to be on furlow from the 1st Gulf War where he had killed 100s and had his hands on Saddam Hussein but was ordered not to kill him by President Bush and then Hussein was broke out of jail by his praetorian guard or whatever they were later. He was completely crazy and despite we all let him have it everyday for his lies he just got further into the delusion. The fool some Vietnam bling on his “uniform” from a yard sale or something I guess or an Uncle and he said there was a secret war currently being fought in Vietnam and he got the medals there. Lang took his Facebook page down. That didn’t take long.
Not before I contacted his wife and friends. Claimed he was hacked so I sent his friend screenshots.
Something doesn’t add up on his FOIAstuff. He served 8 years in the Guard and was discharged as a PVT (E-1). I’m assuming the low rank was due to his felony convictions while serving. Yet the 2-1 states he was honorably discharged. A screw up by a clerk maybe?
Many of the Guards of the several states have no legal infrastructure to support a court-martial process (trial defense service, prosecuting attorneys, etc). Punitive discharges can only be issued by conviction and sentence of a CM. The Guard in my home state hasn’t held a CM since WWII.
The image of his purported unit on his Facebook page, originally appeared on on National Geographic in an article “Inside the Green Berets,” and showed up on the web in 11.2009, and again on their site in 10.2013 and 03.2016. It is not him.

Award of the Navy Cross, awarded by slick willie, certainly cheapens that award — kinda like barack huseine obama (misspelling intentional) being award the nobel piece prize (misspelling intentional). Given his felony convictions, have to wonder if he possesses any firearms?
If he does, or his wife does and he is in the same domicile, it’s a violation of 18 USC 922 (g) (1). He has to have done 366 days in jail though, for that to be effective.
They way I understood that (I am no lawyer) is that if you are convicted of a crime that is PUNISHABLE by a term exceeding a year then you can’t possess or live in a home with firearms. Ex: You are arrested for stealing a car. Go to court and you’re looking at let’s say 2 to 10 years. You plead or are found guilty and you do 8 months of your sentence and get out. No firearms for you because the crime in which you were convicted carries a sentence of a term exceeding one year. Again I am no lawyer and do correct me if I am wrong.
Convicted felon can’t own a firearm but that’s in California. .

I know Steve and he is not like this woman said. He does not use growth hormone because I lived with him for 4 years. He was a true gentleman always opening my car door. He never told me anything that you are saying about him. I have seen his heart and he is a good man. Funny thing is I was with him 20 years ago. He left me for another woman but we are still friends to this day. It was wrong what he did but he doesn’t tell people anything like that. I seen him train a woman for nothing because she was very obsessed and had medical problems. He worked with her for over a year for free. I am very professional woman and work the night shift at the hospital. I know his wife and he treats her like a queen and told her everything about him.
