BACKGROUND

Joseph Guy Foti comes to us from Nutley, New Jersey although on Facebook he claims that he lives in Henryville, Pennsylvania. He also has the middle initial “A” listed as an alias. Foti is 68 years old as of May 2019.

Notice in the above photo: 1) SEAL Trident 2) Silver Star 3) Bronze Star with “V” device 4) Purple Heart 5) Combat Action Ribbon with star to designate second award and 6) Jump Wings.

Using the cached information from an old LinkedIn profile that has since been deleted, Foti had claimed three (3) tours in Vietnam and one tour in North Korea. He also claimed covert operations and involvement in “Operation Enemy Helicopter.”

But on Instagram, he confirmed those tours…

Foti further elaborated on “Operation Enemy Helicopter” in a Facebook post that he made his main profile photo.

On Facebook, Foti recently used this image as his main profile image.

Before this, Foti had an image of a Purple Heart patch that said “Combat Wounded Veteran”…

Here is that same image in his Facebook ‘Photos’ section…

In another photo that Foti posted he wears a cap that says “Military Order of the Purple Heart” (image flipped horizontally from what he posted or it was a selfie in a mirror)…

The MOPH cap is significant because Joe Foti was the Chapter 366 Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Clifton, NJ.

ACTIONS CONDUCTED BY MILITARY PHONIES

After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives, the Naval Special Warfare Center and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of “Joseph Guy Foti” or “Joseph A. Foti” ever completing BUD/S Training or being assigned to a SEAL Team.

Joseph Foti’s military records were ordered through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Since he claimed he retired from the Navy, both the Department of the Navy as well as the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) were contacted.

DISCUSSION and SUMMARY

SUMMARY SHEET

Joseph Foit’s official military records show that he was in the US Navy for for about two and a half years active duty. He was enlisted and got out as a SN (E-3) vs. the officer LCDR (O-4) that he claimed.

Since he was separated at a Navy Hospital, he was either medically separated or was in the hospital field. Probably the former vs. the latter.

He was in during Vietnam, it appears he was on a ship that was close to Vietnam.

There are no schools or assignments that would support Foti’s claim of being a Navy SEAL.

Joseph Foti’s records do not support his claim of having been awarded a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with “V,” a Purple Heart or a Combat Action Ribbon. These awards put Foti in direct conflict with Stolen Valor laws.

STOLEN VALOR

If any of these claims were used to leverage work or promotions or anything else of value, Foti may be in violation of Stolen Valor laws. State laws may also apply.

  1. Walle, A. says:

“Operation Army/Navy Store” was launched after being discharged from the hospital.

Maybe he’s friends with Captain Philip A. Keith; Navy Cross, Silver Star, 3 Purple Hearts. I like how there was a photographer in the water with them to take the movie poster photo while on a mission. Ever notice how they rarely, if ever, give themselves the Medal of Honor? Probably because it is too well documented and easily researched.

Why do they do it? Because they cam.

I might be duplicating here ~ if so, I apologize.

Maybe Foti knows Veteran Navy Captain Philip A. Keith, Navy Cross, Silver Star, 3 Purple Hearts, on the ground combat with the Marines near Hue and heroic pilot. Funny how these guys give themselves everything but the Medal of Honor. Probably too well documented and easily researched.

By the way, that photo of him in the water?

Man..”Bravo Zulu”….nicely done on the POS pic forgery’s! He took “stolen valor” to a pretty high level!

    • Craig says:

….wonder if I can borrow his “gedunk” for my retirement ceremony! Looks like he spent a lot of money!

  7. Mike says:

Why can’t we just keel-haul all these phony SEALs? Off of an aircraft carrier deck in the crappiest sea-state we find handy?

  8. 5th/77th FA says:

POS, lying, embellishing, Valor Thief Joseph Foti. Google hit for you…Asshole! The girls and boys of TAH gonna have a little more “love” for you! ESAD mofo!

  9. USMC FOX 2/2 says:

What is wrong with these people. The utmost disrespect for real purple heart recipients He’s a Fucking asshole . I was an average Grunt ( who met some great guys along the way ) and when people ask I tell them that. Sorry i have no tall tales or a chest full of medals . i didn’t do anything special .

A CAR with 2nd award, and the PUC with 3rd award, where from the depth of a shitter do these fuckers come from…..

  11. larrythecat5 says:

You guys — Senior Chief Shipley had a phone conversation with him yesterday. Part 1 is up on Senior Chief’s site. Foti is awful. I have a feeling Senior is going to get really pissed off in Part 2 🙂

  12. Claude says:

Sounds a lot like the former mayor of Stafford Twp NJ…
John Spodofora, also served in the Navy during Vietnam, claimed to be a Vietnam combat veteran, claimed a Purple Heart, and a claimed to be a SEAL. Only problem for Spodophony is that he never traveled west of the canal zone. At least Foti was in waters off Vietnam.
What is it about these pathetic losers that they can’t be proud of their contributions to the Navy?
    Pathological liars http://www.johnspodofora.com

  13. Gregory Romeu says:

If you go to this guy’s second Facebook page you will find this fuck-bucket is attaching himself to all kinds of paranormal investigative chicks.

I’m surprised that this shit-sucking weasels’ paranormal experience that he’s having isn’t maxing up their Radars every time that he touches their Facebook page?

I’m just like USMC Fox above, a four-year Marine Corps grunt with a Good Conduct Ribbon and My Rifle and Pistol badges. Hell, from Dec 75 through Dec 79 we didn’t even rate the damn National Service Ribbon? But we DO rate the, “Cold War Commendation Medal”??

I do hope that the police department’s that this idiot claims to avoid for does look into his background and see if there’s any Stolen Valor involved in his employment with the law enforcement.
