MICHAEL R SALGADO, NOT A SEAL OR SENIOR CHIEF (E8)

Mike comes to us from Utah. He has been making some claims and those that know him best believe he is telling tall tales. He posted a picture of himself on social media in uniform.

MS1

He has also posted some statements on his social media accounts.

ms94

All bs aside he also made a contradicting statement.

ms95

So on Nov 4 he said he was an E6 and not a Chief. Then in December he says he is a ENCS (E8). We are not the only ones confused.

He also wears SEAL stuff but that in itself is not too far out there for people who support the Teams. If someone deploys in support of the Teams you probably shouldn’t get the SEAL Task Units tattoo put on your arm unless you are actually a SEAL in the Task Unit.  Especially if it includes a Trident in the design.

ms6

How did the SEALs feel about that?

MS2

Even though this writer has spoken to a number of people that were stationed with Mike we still followed the tried and true steps of outing phonies. We checked the UDT/SEAL Database and were unable to find Mike’s name listed as a graduate of SEAL Training. We filed a Freedom of Information Act Request to get his military records.

We discovered that Mike has broken military service. It looks like he served about 7 years and made E5. It looks like a DD214 to be proud of. Please note that during that time frame you receive a DD214 for each enlistment. The assignment page covers his first 3 years in the Navy.

MS5

The next DD214 shows his return to service in February 1995. This one reads a little different. He served 1 year 2 months and 11 days.

ms4

This shows that he was discharged as an ENFN or E3. That’s five grades below Senior Chief. It also shows no reserve obligation. Not sure the Navy has one-year enlistments.

ms97

It’s also interesting to note he made E3 on the same day he was discharged from the service. That may be an indication of why he left so soon.

ms96

Our conclusions are that Mike Salgado never earned the title of Navy SEAL. He also never earned the right to call himself a Senior Chief (E8). The following are his assignment pages. He spent time on ships and was stationed at Special Boat Unit 12 for a period of time.

Unless Salgado has information that disputes his official records coming from the Department of the Navy, he may want to avoid claims to the contrary.

Needs to correct his Armed Forces Expeditionary Ribbon, displayed wrong, and quit telling tall tales. You would think a PO2 with an NCM with a Combat V would be proud of that accomplishment without having to embellish. I personally wear 14 NCMs but not one was awarded for valor. He should be proud of HIS OWN accomplishments. Sad.
