James Leroy Hines comes to us us from Cadiz, KY. James has told people that he was a Navy UDT/SEAL, EOD and a Veteran of not just Vietnam but also Iraq and Afghanistan. Wow that is a long span serving in all those wars. Below we have James sporting his Army uniform, yes you read that correctly, his Army uniform.
Well it’s obvious to Military Phonies that his guy is so legit so there is no further reason to investigate this warrior. I mean he said he’s been in 3, yes that is NOT a misprint 3 Wars. He does have that following:
Vietnam – Iraq – Afghanistan war veteran hat – check
Trident – check
UDT insignia – check
EOD Crab – check
Well I guess just for the heck of it we will do a little research.
ACTIONS CONDUCTED BY MILITARY PHONIES
After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives, the Naval Special Warfare Center and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of James Leroy Hines ever completing BUD/S Training or being assigned to a SEAL Team.
James Leroy Hines’ records were requested through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
Based on James’ summary sheet shows the following:
Active duty from OCT 23, 1968 – NOV 10, 1972 = 4 years and 18 days
Reserve duty from NOV 11, 1972 – SEP 27, 1974 = 1 year, 10 months and 16 days
Active duty from SEP 28, 1974 – OCT 20, 1976 = 2 years and 22 days
Reserve duty from OCT 21, 1976 – JAN 22, 1983 = 6 years, 3 month and 1 day
This is a grand total of 14 years, 2 months and 30 days of combined service in the US Navy.
James was discharged as an E-5, HT2 (Hull Technician). His service record shows No BUD/S, no SEAL Team. He did earn the designation of Second Class Diver. No Vietnam, No Iraq and No Afghanistan. No records were located of him serving in the US Army. James also has a National Defense Service Ribbons with 3 clusters but was only authorized it once.
One of our investigators contacted James and you have to read his response, I am still trying to figure out what the hell he was trying to say.
James saids he earned his UDT badge (FYI not a badge, can’t pull anyone over for a ticket, or can we?) – WRONG!!!!!
James said the UDT badge was decommissioned in 1984 by the Navy – WRONG!!!!
