It seems that Frank Roberto has been some kind of Professional Wrestler for a while.

According to his Twitter page, he also gives people the impression that he is a jump qualified combat war veteran.

In the following screen snips from Fackbook, Mr. Roberto aka Starz tells one of our Investigators from Military Phonies that he was a Corporal (Cpl)(E-4) with the job title (MOS) of 2531 (field radio operator). He claims that he served with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines from 1989 to 1992. Having been in combat in support of Operation Desert Storm where he says that he was in 8 months of combat in 1991.

This was his response when he was told that he doesn’t have a Combat Action Ribbon in his service record.

Actions performed by Military Phonies;

Gathering what information we had, Military Phonies filed for Mr  Roberto aka Starz military service record under the Freedom of Information Act.

Mr  Roberto aka Starz served for two years, four months, and nineteen days on active duty in the Marine Corps.  He was discharged as a Private ( E-1 ). No Combat Action Ribbon on file.

His Chronological record shows that he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, where he was declared a deserter on Sep. 12, 1991.  He was caught in Dec. of 1991, Court Martialed and sent to confinement (Brig) on Dec.6, 1991.  He was then discharged from Active Duty on March 20, 1992.  He was declared a deserter for 2.5 months and spent 104 days in confinement.

CAR/HSM database does show that Frankie did earn the Humanitarian  Service Medal for participation in Operation Provide Comfort. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Provide_Comfort )

Summary and conclusion;

Mr. Frank Roberto was a United States Marine.  Although with the evidence collected by Military Phonies compared to what Mr. Roberto claims.  We can confirm that Mr. Roberto did not discharge from active duty as a Corporal.  Nor did Mr. Roberto deploy to Operation/s Desert Shield/Storm as the Marine unit that he was assigned to did not deploy to Desert Shield/Storm.

    Don’t forget- he “loved war”
    I would too if my only exposure to it was on TV

  2. […] partners at Military Phonies share their work on this fellow Frank Roberto who wrestles professionally under the name Frankie […]

    This is from Frankie the Clown’s pro wrestling Wiki page.

    “Frankie joined the US Marine Corps in 1989, was discharged in 1992 and is a Gulf War/Desert Storm Veteran who served with the USMC’s elite ANGLICO and RECON units as a Forward Observer Radio Operator.”

      Just the kind of guy you WANT your daughter to marry. Upstanding, honest, and full of shit.

  5. FriendlyFire says:

    I know Frankie personally. Your findings may very well be true but I can assure you he is a loyal friend and devoted son, loves his country, treats women with respect, is an advocate of animals, has done a lot of charitable work over the years and is an overall good man.

      None of which excuses the fact that he’s lied for years, and profited from said lies for years.

  6. FireteamZulu says:

    I’ve met him. He’s alright.
    and I read the pages.
    He’s never said he was in RECON or ANGLICO, and I’d say all that bluster was having to do with pro wrestling, probably written by a promoter.
    I’ve never seen him wear any of those medals, at the Birthday at Cookies, or anywhere else.
    Looks like that SRB is way incomplete, and edited, especially since the USMC does not use the term AWOL, that is an Amry term, we use UA.

    • You are mistaken about the term, “AWOL” not being used in the Marines. If you do your research and look to the record but you will find the term UA/AWOL used quite often just as it is outlined in the UCMJ.

  7. Humanitarian Service Medal for participation in Operation Provide Comfort.

    Was THIS for, “comfort” this POS gave while he was in the Brig?
