BACKGROUND & CLAIMS

William Lawrence Jeffries AKA ‘Wild Bill’ hails from Tuscon, AZ.  Military Phonies was notified by numerous active duty US Navy SEALs to the fact that Bill was on Tweeter stating he was a US Navy SEAL and a Vietnam combat veteran.  On Bill’s Twitter account (which is now private), he calls himself Wild Bill@vietnam_combat.  Bill lists himself as a “Vietnam combat veteran, UDT-Seal Team 3, two tours in 1966 & 1967.”  SEAL Team 3 was NOT a Command in the 1960’s, and it did not become a Command until the 80’s.

Bill enjoys letting people know he was a combat vet and ‘navy seal team 3’

A Facebook account was located for Bill which has since been deleted and another Twitter account was located under Bill Jeffries@Navy_UDT

Thank goodness Bill is there to protect the ladies since he needs to let them know hes “an old ex-Navy SEAL in your corner.”  We didn’t know he was a romantic…

Someone on Tweeter started to question Bill and a couple other people about their combat experience.  Bill was happy to state that he was a member of SEAL Team 3 (remember it didn’t exist then) and spent 2 years in Nam.  So here’s the funny part – he tells the person “Google to find out what our mission was. I’m done.”  Serious, you can’t make this up, he didn’t even google “SEAL Team 3 missions in Vietnam.”  There were no missions, there was no SEAL Team 3 back then.   He also admonishes the young man and makes the point that he knows about war.

Bill then claims to Ellen that he was a member of SEAL Team 3 Squad 4 and worked for CIA in covert op.  Not sure what Squad 4 is but it sounds cool.  Of course when you are on a roll you gotta add that you worked for the CIA in covert ops.  Military Phonies has no way of verify his CIA claims but even if we could what do you think the results would be?

Then Wild Bill go’s on to claim that he spent 20 months in Vietnam…

Bill11

He was a Vietnam combat vet for Hillary and he loves Alabama.  No way can we verify if he truly loves Alabama but we’ll take his word on this and only this.

Bill12

Another sad part of this story is that he has his wife believing he was a former Navy Seal and Vietnam Vet.

DISCUSSION & SUMMARY

Records show that Bill served in the US Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman (AZ) with active duty from June  1964 until June 1968 and the Navy Reserves from June 1968 until June of 1970.  His military records shows his “A” school being an AZ and there is NO BUD/S training.  His decorations and awards show NO Combat Action Ribbon.  Bill did receive a Vietnam Service Medal, which one can receive being in its contiguous waters or airspace.  His Command records show NO UDT or SEAL Team.

In conclusion, William Jeffries military records show that he never attended or completed BUD/S and that he was never a Navy SEAL and/or UDT.  His claims of serving as a SEAL in Vietnam or being a Combat veteran are greatly exaggerated.
