BACKGROUND & CLAIMS

Gregory Paul Jackson, age 60, of Marshfield Missouri, has come to the attention of Military Phony.  Gregory Jackson makes statements on numerous Facebook sites associated with UDT/SEALs and Vietnam Veterans claiming to be both a US Navy SEAL and a Vietnam Veteran.

Jackson has made attempts to contact Gov. Eric Greiten (Former SEAL) requesting assistance on a personal matter.

Jackson claims he was in Vietnam in 1974-1975.

Gregory feels it necessary to post on Vietnam Veterans FB Page with interesting stories. Oh, and he has issues spelling Vietnam, you would think to be in country for 2 years he might learn how to spell it as ‘Vietnam’ vs. ‘Veitnam’.

jackson4

Now he must have felt it was time to post in the UDT/SEAL Association FB page because SEALs would never visit their own UDT/SEAL Association page and therefore would not raise suspicion.

jackson5

I guess he’s seen a lot of souls from there and “two mean body bags” (We are guessing that he meant “too many body bags”).

jackson6

The Navy SEAL monument is being constructed in VA Beach. Gregory is happy to receive recognition for what he did for his Nation.

jackson7

jackson8

Here’s where it gets disgusting, Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator William R. “Ryan” Owens’ life was taken in combat and Gregory felt it necessary to make a comment by calling him a brother.

jackson9

And more comments about Vietnam claiming to be “special operations forces”.

jackson10

It looks like he’s learning how to spell ‘Vietnam’

Next he makes a comment about the training he endured at BUD/S… allegedly.

Jackson should have known there is NO live fire during Hell Week.

Gregory claims to have been on Team 4 in Vietnam, there was no SEAL Team 4 during Vietnam and UDT Team Four was dissolved in October of 1945… oops!

jackson16

Gregory felt it was necessary to contact Governor Eric Greitens (Former SEAL) claiming to be “a brother seal class 088, Vietnam vet”, while wearing a Navy SEAL ball cap. Then he claims to have been a Second Class Petty Officer UDT/SEAL.

jackson17

When Jackson received no response, he may have felt short-changed in the brotherly love department. In any case, he posted again…

jackson18

Nothing is better than purchasing a large Trident hat with UNITED STATES NAVY SEAL, guess he needs everyone to know.

Gregory Jackson’s records were requested through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

CRIMINAL

Jackson also did some time in prison.  Although it appears that he may not have any experience with Vietnam or SEAL training, his expertise may be in the area of making prison shanks and toilet wine.

DISCUSSION & SUMMARY

We discovered that Mr. Jackson had served on active duty in the United States Navy from July 8, 1976, to April 21, 1977, a total of 9 months and 14 days so his claim of serving from 1974-1975 is highly exaggerated.  According to information provided by the UDT/SEAL Archives, the last SEALs left Vietnam in 1973.

He was discharged as a Fireman Recruit (FR) (E-1) and not a Second Class Petty Officer (E-5) as he claimed. His official records show that he served on the USS FDR CV42 which is the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVB/CVA/CV-42).

His records show that he entered Navy boot camp in July of 1976, so would not support his claim of serving in Vietnam or ‘Veitnam’.   The US pulled out of Vietnam on 30 April 1975, well over a year later Gregory Jackson would enter boot camp.  There are no Vietnam campaign medals to support this claim as well.

In conclusion, Gregory Jackson’s military records show that he never attended or completed BUD/S and that he was never a Navy SEAL and/or UDT. His claims of serving as a SEAL in Vietnam are greatly exaggerated.

After contacting the UDT/SEAL archives and checking the UDT/SEAL database we found that there is NO record of Gregory Jackson attending BUD/S training.

Hang your noggin, maggot! You are a disgrace.

  2. […] can enjoy the rest of his claims HERE   It seems that a few Navy SEALS over at militaryphony.com decided they should order his records […]

  3. SWells says:

Dang! Something’s seriously wrong with people like this. Why doesn’t anybody fake being a submariner? Sure, I’ve never been to BUD/S, but I was lucky to survive a few bars in France once or twice.
