Our friends at This Ain’t Hell uncovered John David Guess who has bought out every pawn shop in his area so that he can claim to be the most famous Marine in history. I’m not even going to begin to identify all the medals, ribbons, and badges on his uniform. That would require a whole new page on our website.
The sad part is that he actually did serve. In the US Marine Reserves as an 0311 Infantryman. I guess that wasn’t enough to be proud of. It makes a person wonder that if he will go to this length to embellish his service, What else is he deceiving the public about?Well, He wanted to be famous so we are granting his wish.
This is when you ask them, in public, “What does this one mean” . And going from there.
I remember, we couldn’t wait to get our first ribbon, Sea Service Deployment. Then we found out it was something the 1st Sgt could gig us on during a “Charlies” inspection if it wasn’t place exactly right. We began to regret getting it…..lol
