I was curious to see if one of these fake warriors would respond, so I messaged this guy. Here is his response:
“Well John you had better check your source of information. I first joined the CORPS 13 Feb 1965. I got out of the CORPS late 1967 on hardship discharge. I fixed the family financial problem and reenlisted with a waiver to a unit you will never know all off the record. I can't and won't tell you shit about anything from then to early 1977. When I got out. I didn't take to civilian life so I tried to reenlist in the Corps again. I didn't think I could make it through CORPS Boot Camp again, so I joined the US Army an only had to go through a 3 week minute man course to pass a physical and get issued uniforms. I Got out of the Army 13 Feb 1985 at Ft Hood TX, because with a P3 profile I was unable to be be promoted. I am a 100% service connected disabled veteran. All of this can be confirmed, You won't find anything on me from 1967 to 1977 anywhere, for reasons you aren't authorized this information. You had better check your information before you smear shit. I have left that part of my life in the past where it belongs. I don't even live in the states any more. I am attaching a copy of my 1st VA card and my last VA card. The first card shows my POW statues New card does not because of the classification .”
I'm not military, so I can't make a judgment call. Is he legit?
His records from the FOIA are posted above, and the link to “This Ain't Hell” contains surviving POW names. If he was legit, he wouldn't be listed here.
OK. I just can't believe how deluded these frauds are. I guess he has lived the lie for so long that he actually believes his own fabrication. What a pathetic existence.
