The VFW post be claims to belong to is in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He has it as being in Portage, MI Even lies about that….lol
I just did a search to verify his MFR-EMT licence. Guess what? None found look yourself.

Here he claims to have been stationed on the USS Manitowoc. According to this page, which is user submitted not a government database, he claims the ship and states his rank as E-6. Obviously from the military report above, he never served active duty (which would take place on a ship) and lied about his rank again!

I have looked into this man a lot. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I can't believe he runs a “ghost hunting” team. I wouldn't trust anything he told me. Sounds like he can't tell the truth to save his life. Public record search shows he was sued by the company that runs Kalamazoo State Theater for $2,460 after he held a conference there. Lies and won't pay bills? Who ya gonna call? Not The Southern Michigan Paranormals but rather Stolen Valor.
Under the Freedom of Information Act, this is a standard DD214 allowed to be given upon request. Do not be fooled by the incomplete look; it documents everything needed. Let us break up the DD214 list above.
N/A does not mean Not Available, it means Not Applicable, which in layman's terms = did not happen. From obtained report from our US Government, you can clearly see N/A for very pertinent area that are direct contradictions to what Mr. Holroyd has published for public view. (Thank you to whomever listed those above.)
1. Term of Enlistment – Only served less than a year, not to the years he has claimed.
2. US Navy Reserves only, not US Navy
3. Rank is at lowest entry level for US Navy; never achieved the E6 status Mr. Holroyd claims.
4. Salary – N/A for salary because never achieve officer status to be eligible for salary pay.
5. Source of Commission and Promotion Sequence Number is N/A because never saw Active Duty nor gained
promotions
6. Assignments and Geographical Locations – if Mr. Holroyd was stationed on a ship and participated in Operation
Urgent Fury (Invasion of Grenada), this is where it would be listed. This once again proves lack of Active Duty claims.
7. Military Education – this is where Special Forces Training (SRT, he mentions) and Radio Specialist Training would
be listed. N/A means no special training or education.
8. Decorations and Awards – this N/A quickly informs readers Mr. Holroyd never received any citations or awards he
publicly claims. Any citations or awards would be listed, along with the coinciding Operation. Side note – he also
states his awards were given to him in 1884; wasn't enlisted in the US Navy Reserves in 1984.
9. Here is the line & header that interests me the most – Transcript of Court-Martial Trial. Notice the lack of a N/A and
the words “Not In File?” That is the red flag as to why Mr. Holroyd may have served less than 1 year. This basically
states the boy did get into trouble while in the Navy Reserves, but this information cannot be made public under the
FOIA without Mr. Holroyd's signature or a court order. The US Military does allow enlisted men to agree to a
“discharge” in lieu of a trial. Layman's terms – form of plea bargain.
Regardless of what Mr. Holroyd may say from this moment on for his defense, a DD214 form does not lie.
Unfortunately this isn't a DD214 it is a FIA request. Though this form DOES indeed prove he lied and the above statements explaining what it says are true. It is (somewhat)partial information, but it DOES show he is a liar and embellish-er. It doesn't take anymore than a FIA request to prove that.

As recently as 12/2012, he was telling his Grenada invasion story. Claimed he was attached to a Marine Corps landing unit and was shot while making his way up the beach. Regardless, this claimed “white” lie as destroyed his credibility, reputation and trustworthiness.

I personally heard him tell the story November 9, 2012 at the Paranormal Fest in Indianapolis. We were talking to him following the VIP party in the hotel bar. He told of how he was shot in the leg while exiting a landing vehicle in Operation Urgent Fury. He even went as far as to show the scar from the bullet extraction.
Funny thing Anonymous and James, I happen to know this guy first hand. I started SMP with him, which he claims HE started, and has Deb as his co-founder. She didn't “co-found” anything! The ORIGINAL team was MINE, Southern Michigan Paranormal Investigators. He went and registered the SMP name with the state of MI in HIS name ONLY…of course behind my back. When I met this pathetic idiot, he had a hap-hazard team that would break into East Hall and area cemeteries to do their “ghost hunting”. When I met him, we talked and at the time he seemed like a pretty cool guy. Never did I know that he was such a pathological liar, until about 2 or so years of working with him. Once he figured out I was on to him and his bullshit, he kicked me out of the group I founded with him, and he did so by sending me a “dear john” email….didn't even have the guts to talk to me about anything in person. There is much more to the story, but you get the idea. He is not to be trusted, EVER, with anything. Some may also say that I'm not able to let the past go. You know what? You're right! Why? Because it is my goal to help expose this waste of oxygen for the LIAR he is! He has some audacity to accuse everyone he deals with of not having any integrity, but yet its ok for him to lie about his group, service record, and many other things? Karma is a bitch pal, its about time you get whats coming to you!
